Monk’s Rock Full Day Hike

This hike has little elevation change as it travels through the Electrico river valley throughout much of the journey. You’ll walk through enchanting sub-antarctic forests of lengas and cross rolling streams before reaching the Los Troncos campsite. A picturesque place set alongside the river and sheltered by an erratic boulder that pays tribute to a Salesian monk who was one of Patagonia’s most avid early explorers. A short trek from here, you’ll reach Electrico Lake and the Marconi Glacier before a quick climb to the rarely seen northern face of Mt. Fitz Roy.
