Safety is of the utmost importance to us. Now we know that is easy to say, but here are some the preventative measures we take to ensure it:
All of our mountain guides are certified with the Argentine Association of Mountain Guides (AAGM) which is a member of the largest international mountain guide association, the International Federation of Mountain Guides. Certification requires mastering of various mountaineering techniques, first aid aptitude, search & rescue operations, and other factors within the discipline. They also all have permits to guide groups within National Park limits.
Our hiking and biking guides all have multiple years of experience, are all certified with National Parks, and have completed various safety training, first aid and CPR courses.
Apart from their various years of experience guiding groups, our lake kayaking and rafting guides are certified with the Argentine Canoeing Federation as well as National Parks.
We also require that all of our hosts on our Escorted Trips have first aid response certification by the Red Cross.
In addition to the training listed above, we carry comprehensive first aid kits during all activities and have radio communications to our bases in case of emergencies. We provide all applicable safety equipment such as life jackets and/or helmets and use support boats and kayaks as additional precautionary measures during water and/or biking activities. Additionally, when called for, our experienced guides provide a comprehensive instructional and safety orientation prior to our departure.
We also regularly verify all permits for vehicles, kayaks and rafting boats used during our adventures.
